Description:
Located just outside of Cusco, Azul Wasi is an organization dedicated to the care and protection of children and young adults in high risk situations. They are taken off the city streets and provided shelter, nourishment, clothing and education. Azul Wasi is commited to the promise of generating opportunity by endowing these adolescents with the skills and training necessary to lead successful independent lives. Because it is a non-profit organization, Azul Wasi provides basic services and depends on the support of its benefactors and volunteers. 

Project Details:

• Aid construction and maintenance of facilities.
• Serve as tutor and mentor for youth.
• Teach English, art and computer classes.
• Lead group discussions with adolescents and young adults.
• Support care and cultivation of vegetation in the greenhouse.
• Organize day trips to Cusco, tours and recreational activities.

Requirements: 18 years of age
Volunteer Time Period: Minimum of 2 weeks, daily or every other day
Dates available: According to request
Spanish level required: Intermediate
