Mendoza, Argentina

Mendoza is a medium size city, with a population of almost two million, is located in the foot of the Andes Range, very easy to reach by bus from Santiago, Chile (7 hours) and from buenos Aires (14 hours).
The city is well known for its distinct architecture, called “pergolas”. Which can be found in various destinations such as: plazas, parks and pedestrian walkways. Everything is situated with easy access to the public with our public transport system.

Out Door Sports

The city of Mendoza offers you a variety of sports to play. The activities include: rafting in the rivers of Mendoza, paragliding in one of the best places in the country, mountain climbing/hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding and skiing.  During the hiking/climbing season, many arrive from all parts of the world to climb the great Mt. Aconcagua, the highest point in all of South American (6,985mts). Also, for the winter season, Mendoza has 3 skiing resorts.

Mendoza is accustomed to having very late dinners and getting together with friends in local bars and restaurants. The street “Arístides Villanueva”, which lays near the school, is well known amongst the youth, and that’s why they also call it “calle de los bares” (street of the bars).  Typical Argentine food and international cuisine is also offered throughout the city.

The national fiesta of the “Vendimia” is one of the most important and oldest celebrations in Argentina. This antique tradition brings out grape harvesters celebrating the end of their busiest season with massive stock, traditional folklore guitarists, and the election of “la Reina” which is crowned with a wreath of grapes.
