Spanish School in Mexico, Oaxaca

The Spanish School in Oaxaca is located in the heart of Oaxaca’s Historical Center, two blocks from the beautiful Santo Domingo ex-convent and 4 blocks from Oaxaca’s “Zocalo” (downtown square). Due to the Center’s location, students are surrounded by a number of cafes, art galleries, museums, shops. With its ethnic, cultural and historic richness, Oaxaca is an ideal place to experience the beauty of Mexico and its people.

The teachers and student service team
Attention and quality
The teachers have over 20 years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language. All are Mexican Nationals, however they can communicate in English when necessary, although they try to use Spanish as much as possible. Their mission is to provide the best quality instruction of Spanish as a Second Language, and to offer the students a meaningful and unforgettable cultural experience. 

Both one day and two day excursions are organized in order to speak Spanish also in daily life situations and of course to get to know the students better. The cost of excursions is not included.

Methology
The teaching methods are unique and diverse each instructor uses a variety of techniques which depend on the specific needs of his/her students at that time. Most common teaching methods used in class are: Communicative focus; Focus on extra work; Ludic.

Accommodation:

We offer accommodations with a Mexican Family in the Homestay Program or at our Student Residence. For both options, we offer private rooms. Double rooms are available only when 2 students are travelling together. 

Homestay
In the homestay program, the families are carefully provided a home away from home. This gives students the opportunity to further appreciate the beauty of Mexico and its people. The host families are located within a 20 minute walk of the school. Some provide their students with bicycles, so they can get around the city and to and from the school easily and quickly. there is either a private bathroom or shared with another student.

Student Residences
The Oaxaca Residence is located just three blocks from the school’s campus in a quaint, modern-Colonial house. The rooms are surrounded by large patios and garden areas which have been adapted as areas for sunbathing or lounging; a living area where students can watch TV or movies; and a dining area for the buffet style, continental breakfast included. Students are also welcome to use the kitchen to prepare other meals or to save and warm up leftovers.

Private accommodations
Condominiums, houses and hotel rooms are also available. If students would like to obtain private accommodation, they need to fill out a questionnaire in order to find an appropriate house. Prices of such accommodation varies and does not include meals.

Hours:
The school is open Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:30hrs

Holidays
If a public holiday falls on a school day, classes are cancelled and no refunds will be offered for classes missed.
